What Kind of Night Out?
We are not a traditional nightclub, and we are not a quiet bar. We sit somewhere in the middle, which is exactly what most people want from a Huddersfield night out. Tribute acts, club-style party nights and themed events all run on the same stage that hosts touring acts week in, week out.
Some of the most popular nights we run include:
Tribute band nights covering everyone from Oasis to Adele to Fleetwood Mac, often with double bills.
The Over 30s Saturday Afternoon Disco, which has become a regular sell-out.
Ibiza Project club nights with full production and a proper dance floor atmosphere.
90s and 00s club classics evenings, themed parties and seasonal specials.
Comedy nights in partnership with KMC Comedy throughout the year.
The Huddersfield Blues Club runs sessions here too, and the upstairs Live Lounge hosts open mic and acoustic sets midweek.
Where Smile Bar Sits in Huddersfield Nightlife
Huddersfield’s town centre has a mix of bars, pubs and event venues, but very few are set up for proper nights out at scale. Most pubs are pub-sized. Most clubs lean towards one format only, DJ sets, themed nights, or quiet drinks. Smile Bar and Venue sits between all of them: a 650-capacity main hall licensed late, with a professional stage and full production, programming tribute bands, club nights, comedy and themed parties most weekends.
On any given Friday or Saturday, you’re in front of a crowd of up to 650 people in a room built for atmosphere, not squeezed into a corner of a bar. The atmosphere is closer to a small festival than a pub night out.

Two Spaces, One Venue
The main hall is for the big nights, tribute bands, club nights, comedy, live music. Capacity is 250 seated or 650 standing depending on the event.
Upstairs, the cafe bar is a more relaxed setting for a midweek drink, an acoustic set or a small group catching up before heading to the main hall downstairs. It seats around 60.
You can spend the whole night across both spaces or pick the room that fits what you’re after. The Live Lounge open mic nights run in the cafe bar.
