The evening is hosted by Graeme and Peter, who run the Live Lounge throughout the year. If you want to perform, submit two song choices using the form at the bottom of this page. On the night, each performer gets a slot to play with support from the house musicians.
All genres are welcome. Whether you’re a singer-songwriter trying out new material, a guitarist who wants to play in front of an audience, or a vocalist looking for a backing band for the evening, the Live Lounge is open to you.
The cafe bar holds around 60 people and the atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging. This isn’t a competition or an audition. It’s a space for musicians at any level to perform live, build confidence and connect with other artists in Huddersfield.
The bar’s open throughout, and there’s no entry fee for audience members. If you just want to come and watch, you’re very welcome.
The Live Lounge is part of our broader mission to support unsigned and independent music, which grew from the venue’s connection to Smile Radio. Performers who stand out may also get the opportunity to feature on Smile Radio’s programming.
