SMILE BAR AND VENUE

Smile Bar & Venue is Huddersfield’s home for live music, tribute nights, comedy and events. With a 650-capacity main hall and an intimate upstairs cafe bar, we host over 100 live events a year and welcome thousands of music lovers through our doors every month.

Huddersfield’s Live Entertainment Venue

From internationally touring tribute bands to local blues nights, stand-up comedy to sold-out club classics evenings, there is something on at Smile Bar and Venue most weekends. The venue grew from Smile Radio and is built around a simple idea: give artists a stage and give Huddersfield a proper night out.

The main hall is purpose-built for live shows with professional sound and lighting. Over 60 tribute nights a year and weekly original music keep the stage active. Upstairs, the cafe bar offers a more relaxed setting for acoustic nights, open mic sessions and midweek drinks.

We are open Wednesday to Sunday and the venue is also available for private hire.

An opportunity for up and coming artists of any genre to perform in a relaxed atmosphere, supported by other talented musicians. Graeme and Peter run this evening on alternate Wednesdays throughout the year and offer support to all performers.

If you’re travelling to Smile Bar and Venue by car, we recommend parking in either A1 parking, available for 24 hours, which is located behind the premier Inn; or the university car park on Wakefield Road, just before the roundabout, from 5:30pm for 12 hours. Please note that Smile Bar and Venue are not responsible for any restrictions imposed by either car park and you park at your own risk.
